Unhappy F150 will not start

1998 F150 V8 will not start. Drove it home from work turned it off. Went out this morning and the starter will not turn over or even click. Checked the solenoid switch and even replaced it but that did not help. Check the battery and connections everything is good. When you turn the ignition switch the solenoid switch clicks and that is all. Actually jumped the two posts on the switch and got sparks to fly but nothing out of the starter. I'm hoping you folks can help. Any suggestion

allways first thing is to clean your battery always, just super clean them. ive hac that problem , oh yeah it good , not , oops spent $200 on new starter and cyliniod that wasnt needed. eaven the wire going to the battery cables. and if you end up needn battery carquest or napa has a battery that like better than optimus for $60 or more cheeper. orylees is all cheep crap dont by there

I have had the same problem, but after turning off the engine, I disconnected the battery cable for about ten seconds, then reconnected the cable. Then it started as it should have. This repeated several times. I think that the computer gets reset when the battery is disconnected and reconnected. But I don't know what is causing the computer to turn off.

Have somebody turn the key while you Whack the starter with a hammer. That'll get you going enough to get to a shop to get the starter replaced.
