Hello I bought a used F150 2017 10 speed with 100K miles on it. The gear shifting sometimes has a clunking sound . Is it worth resetting the adaptive transmission table.
Or If I do that can the transmission become worse by any chance? Like can something go wrong with an adaptive table reset.

I would, without hesitation. DO you know the history of the transmission as far as service? You may have found the reason why it was sold. Resetting the trans wont hurt it, any worse than what it already is.
Some will also say do a pan drop only and change the oil in the pan and filter. I would not do a full blown flush on a transmission that I do not know its service history,
I ffinally went ahead and resetted. I took it for a test drive . THe truck stays in higher gears often than it used to be. I also noticed teh fuel efficieny went from 16.5 to 18mpg. May be need a longer drive to confirm the mpd improvement. Overall I see some improvements.
I did a pan drop and filter chnage at the dealer ship. Yeah there is a risk involved in the used car especially with teh 10r80. Here are some pictures from dealer ship after trans pan removal
