mine would hesitate between 1-2, felt like the trans dropped into neutral and cut engine power, then it would SLAM into gear. 3rd gear started slamming as well, and overall shifting was not smooth and normal. It would smooth out the hotter the trans got, and act more normal around 200F trans temp. Dealer replaced the CDF drum and did basically a complete trans rebuild to repair. Known issue with a press fit bushing in the CDF drum slipping. Seems to be a common issue on the 10R80 and 10R140.

I always try and let mine run and warm up before I drive it, but once in a while my remote start won't work and I get in and only run a minute then drive because it's freezing out. And when I have done that I found there is a big delay going into gear and it does shift odd until it warms out.

Like I said, I try to avoid driving until it has had some warm up time.

You should not have to let your transmission warm up to 200F for it to shift correctly. No vehicle I have ever owned required it to sit for 15-20 minutes idling in order to shift.

Mine actually slips going into second on initial take off. After I stop and proceed down the road it shifts normally into second and other gears.
