Default F150 AC Temp

2010 F150, What should the air temp be coming out of the vents if you have it set on Max AC which is 60 degrees? I'm having some issues with my AC and have been to the dealership a couple of times. They say it is fixed but i don't think the air is blowing as cold as it should.

Thanks,

I am not sure what the temp should be but the temperature coming out of the vents in my Lariat does not compare to my Lexus.
I am not saying something is wrong with Lariats AC because it does cool adequate even in this southern TX heat but the AC on my Lexus is colder.

Typical a/c system is intended to cool to 20 to 25 degrees cooler than ambient air temp. So if it 1oo outside it will be 75 to 80 inside. Now granted with recirculate on you will get even cooler over time but that's about it.

to 150fx4, are you saying you only have 60 deg air on max a/c? that is way too high I would say. last time I checked my a/c temp was 38 deg on max air.
I would go back to your dealer

With all due respect, but this is the same BS the dealer tried to tell me! To the OP, If you can get 40 degrees discharge at the center left vent, you are doing great for a Ford in this year model! Having said that, my 13 only produces 44-48 coil temp and at the vent and dealer says its good based on the 20-25 degrees less from ambient.

The evap coil on my 13 (and possible all models) is suppose to produce 36-38 coil temp. Most dont perform this way.

There is a post called "compressor cycling fix", suggest you take a look at the hack in that post for possible better performance. Folks doing this are seeing discharge temps between 36-40. Even a steady 40 is a huge difference in these trucks!

The most important thing though is, make sure you have a correct charge by: evacuation/recovery and recharge of correct amount by weight.

whomrig - the 60 degrees I was referring to is what the control setting shows when you select Max AC. I have not checked the temp yet (coming out of the vents), I plan on doing that tonight or this weekend. I thought I had read somewhere in the post before about the temp at the vents was supposed to be down in 40's range, but I could not remember exactly. I just know when I hold my hand up to it is does not feel like when the truck was newer or when I thought the AC was right. Before when it was set on Max AC I could just hold the back of my hand up to a vent for a few seconds before it became to cold or uncomfortable. Now I can place my hand there and leave it and it just feels comfortable.

digitaltrucker/Joe F - thanks, I will check out the other threads. I've read through some before, some of them were pretty long. I just didn't know if there was a manufacturer spec on what the vent temp should be or where to find it.

Let me clarify, there is no spec vent discharge temp, only a spec evaporator operative temp.

It should be cold. How cold? Mine (after 5-10 minutes of running) blows cold and my hands goes numb if I leave it there for more than 1 min. However, it takes a while before the air blown is that cold.

Are you asking because it doesn't cool down your cabin enough? Did you experience any issues, or are you only asking because the air coming out doesn't seem enough cold for you? If it does its job properly, I wouldn't worry about the air temperature coming out of the vent.

It does not cool down cab like it used to. It stared last summer. Dealer had it for almost a month last year, going through it piece by piece before it seemed to be corrected. Now doing the same thing again. To me the air coming out of the vents is not cold enough. I’ll check vent temp and cabin air temp this weekend.
I was just trying to get an idea of what a realistic temp expectation is or if there was a manufacturer spec since dealer said it was fixed and I disagree.
