Default F-250?

I do own an F-150 right now but was looking to move into something bigger meaning an F-250. my true question is I'm looking at a diesel 2007 with 70,000 miles on it and not sure what to look for. or what im getting into. my vehicle only has 44,000 miles on it and runs great but getting up there in age. I'm just looking for anybody's thoughts would be great.
Thanks

If you decide to get a 2007 F-250 then make sure you have the Power Stroke 6.0 and tranny checked and cleared by a trusted mechanic. Ford ditched International and went in house for their Diesel engines after the 2011MY. Most of the International Power Stroke diesels are fine but there have been a fair amount of complaints and quality issues which resulted in the switch.

If possible I would recommend the 2008 and up with the 6.4L Power Stroke which has many improvements over the 6.0, especially reducing turbo lag with twin turbos and is much quieter!

deleting the dpf etc is a great idea just don't move to an area where they check that the stuff is there. Big brother is starting to show up everywhere. My 08 6.4 is now on its 2nd egr at 54k. for 10k miles prior the cleaning of the dpf was ongoing about 50% of the time and the mileage was ridiculous. Oh yeah you have to change the fuel filters every 15k miles. The dealer charges $163 here for that service. If I didn't need the diesel for towing I wouldn't touch them. Did I mention fuel is about 60 cents or more a gallon for diesel and better use power service to keep the injectors clean and anti gel.

Yea oil changes are expensive and the fuel filter are real pricey. Luckily when I had mine I got everything about 40-50% off through the parts dealer my dad does all his business through for his big rig. Cost me about $80 for everything.

I think you've said it all in your original post. Sounds like you have a perfectly good truck with very few miles on it. Why trade up for something with more mileage especially when you're saying you don't really know what you're getting into. IMO, the only people that should be upgrading from F150's to Superduties, should "know what they're getting into"

Imo any superduty newer then 06 is ugly... If you go 6.0 have the headstuds checked and get the exhaust done. The egr and dpf (on new trucks) block the flow and the truck chokes itself on the exhaust
