Keep in mind, from what I've read, the 6.2L is based off the 5.4L. So knowing Ford couldn't fit the 6.8L under the hood of an F150, and see how my 5.4L fills the engine bay on my 2006, I can see how dropping the 6.2L in the F150 may be a tight squeaze.

Negative, the 6.2L is a Boss motor. 16 spark plugs, hope they're not two piece.

Yes it does have 16 plugs, but it is derived from the 5.4L.

Watch the video (from 10-15 second range) on the 6.2L in the link below. This is a Ford advertisement and don't think they would make such claims if it weren't true. If it weren't, I think they would have stated something like "an all new engine/platform" rather than making reference to the 5.4L.

May have had something to do with the fact that the new line was originally dubbed the "Hurricane".

Their are similarities between the mod 5.4 motors and the Boss's (which may be where the statement comes from), but it's not like the 6.2L is a bored out 5.4 block.

Is it going to be supercharged? Might have to get one of these bad boys on obamacredit.

I know that Arctic Cat has been using 2 plugs/cylinder that last couple years, but man that's going to be expensive to change out!
Now that they're producing the Screw+5.5, they should easily be able to make an Ext+6.5 since the frame is about the same. I don't think the majority of people buying a Raptor are going to worry about wheelbase length and Baja agility lol

Well, if I remember correctly, the HEMI 5.7L from the last gen Ram had 2 plugs per cylinder. Not so sure if the HEMI in the '09+ Ram has the same 16 plugs.

And yeah, hopefully Ford has designed their plugs better than what we got in our 04-07 F150s ('08 received the 1 piece plug design)

Haven't heard of that yet, but would be interesting. Now Ford has upped the 6.2L Boss to 7.0L for racing applications, so there is much more potential for this motor.

The frame on the Screw 5.5' and Scab 6.5' is the exact same. So I really could see this being possible and a way to fully discontinue the Scab 5.5'. They only offer the Scab 5.5' in the Raptor now, as all other Scab trim levels are no longer available with the 5.5' only the 6.5' or 8'.

Most these trucks sold more than likely will never see a dirt road, they'll simply be an image. So I don't forsee the length being much of an issue for the majority of owners.
