When I was at the dealer last month, I asked my service guy about this trans, he said they are expensive as a complete unit annd they are backed up with them, waiting for Ford to approve repairs so they can order parts! Good luck op.

They said to keep my eye on it cause I have a warranty. No ****. From what I have read there is a serious problem with these 10 speeds. It already had the recalculation of shift points. No difference at all. They gave a number I could call if I wasn't happy. I have to call and fight with Ford to fix a problem they know exists. I don't think so. Going back to a Tundra again.
Mine shifts fine 10,000 miles on it you have a warranty take it back and have Ford fix it pretty simple really!!

So, there is an actual problem with the ten speed then? I remember when I first heard about this new ten speed, I said that's going to be trouble, for a while at least.

I guess its one of those things: glass half full or empty. He told me they wanted to get a full trans from Ford, for training, but there were none available. Said the 10 speed runs about 10K cost? I assume that is retail. Much like other issues for some (ac, sun roofs, leaks, etc) some others may never experience an issue.

Not sure if I was buying a new truck, I would have one. If I did, I would make sure I had an ESP.

Retail is only about $5800

Mine's OK... Shifts a little rough when cold, but otherwise it's fine. It's basically just a 6sp with 4 over drives lol.

I have a screw with this trans while my 27 is getting a long block done . it's clunky when it's cool outside and fifth and eighth are like hitting pot holes but only once and awhile . if this wasn't a rental I'd be upset with it . I don't really blame the trans but the program . they'll get it in time. Or maybe like the famous Taurus they'll never get it. Tundra s are cool but Toyota dealers turn me off . if you use it for work watch out for them . I was told you took it out there and burned it up and brought it back to us to fix it . after that I drove Silverado s for a decade . never once did a Chevy dealer give me the omg you're using this for business ! Ford dealer either I would like to add when issues arose . Case in point Acura vs jeep same 9 speed auto one drives like it was built at the pick and pull one drives fine . can you guess who wrote the better program lol
