Default External mirror glass removal problem

Hi all,
I know this has been posted, with video's in the past-and I have read and re-read and viewd over and over and I am still not able to release the three tabs with screwdriver as shown. Glass shops as well as body shops won't touch the mirror for fear of breaking the glass. I am trying to do this on a 2012 F150 Lariat screw 4x4 with rear facing blinkers, heat, folding and puddle light morrors. I am trying to add forward facing blinkers and parking lights as per previous posts. I just need a little more info on the removal of the glass. Anything additionally provided will be much appreaciated. Thank you.

HINT/TIP: You'll find posting in the
Late Model F150s > 2009 - 2014 Ford F150
section more helpful/appropriate than General F150 Discussion posts.

All I can offer, not sure which post or video you've watched, is use a very thin flat screw driver and wedge it in between the two 'plates' and twist the screwdriver to start the separation. Once it starts just keep moving along to widen it. I've never been able to actively work the tabs but have done this a few times to replace broken mirror lense and to convert front reflectors to blinkers.

The way I removed mine was to tilt the mirror all the way down and in then with a long skinny flat head screwdriver go in behind the glass as mentioned above and try to pry each little tab loose, (the tabs are all the way around and there's more than just a few) once you get a couple of them the whole thing will let go so be ready to grab it.
