Extended warrenty or not?

Extended warranties, Yes or No?
Extended Warranties are a waste of money if you plan on trading every three years.
I have purchased the Extended warranty on my 2014 Lariat, which my Wife & I beat up a little so we traded it and transferred the Extended warranty to our 2015 Platinum.
These new F150 trucks have too many options that can, and will go wrong. You can have numerous computer problems that can add up fast.
Extended warranties,
Ford is betting you won't use it.
You are betting you will use it.

Ok, you didn't speak of which extended warranty you had.......
But typically, as with a FORD ESP, you can't "transfer" it from one vehicle to another..... You would have to process a "refund" on the vehicle on which you had the coverage(which means a prorated refund based off mileage/months and a $75 admin fee), then you would have to "buy" another ESP on the new vehicle.
You could use the refund you received on the older esp, to buy the new one, and pay any difference.
the only way a "transfer" is allowed is if you sold the vehicle to another party, you could let the remainder of the esp go with it.
Speaking of the Ford ESP in both cases.

Yes. Like others have said, with all the electronics and computer modules on these trucks, repairs can add up fast. And, if you trade or sell your truck, you get a percentage of the cost back. Got a nice check from Toyota the other day.

Amen to the above quote. As for the ESP paying for itself, ours on our Lincoln MKT has for sure, so much so that I just extended it two more years and 40k miles total of 8 years and 140k. The things its paid for in the last 3 years include 3 headrest dvd players, one tailgate rear lightbar assembly, one HID swiveling headlight motor and balast, computer modules related to the transmission, 2 transmission seals, a ptu for the AWD and rear drive shaft with it. Total on all these is well north of 5k combined and to extend it was 1900. The coverage for lights alone if we have one headight and one tail go out will be a break even or ahead.

I always get the extended warranties on my cars and trucks. So far they have all paid for themselves many times over.
My truck had the engine replaced at 60,200 miles, which would've cost around $7k. Then more recently, the rear diff self destructed and needed $3700 in repairs.
Now my replacement passenger side exhaust manifold is cracked and really loud. I'm debating whether to take it in for repair before the warranty expires in October, or just install headers myself after the warranty is done. I already took it in once and the dealer claimed they couldn't hear it, so they refused to fix it. I want to take it somewhere else, but that's another $100 out of pocket.

Just bought my F-150 this week. I am going to buy the Ford ESP from zieglerfordesp.com
It's the genuine Ford warranty, you choose the years/miles, pay 10% down, and make 12 payments with 0% interest.
Plus a $75 discount with promo code GREGH

Extended Warranties are rip offs...the kid behind the desk gets a real good cut(bonus) if he can sell it when typing up the paperwork. I hate insurances and buying extra warranties.
My 2015 was the 'new redesigned' F150. The kid doing the financing fell off his seat when I said I'll take it. And before I left he actually said 'with the price you got on your truck, I'm still shocked you bought the Extended warranty'. I've bought many many new F150's. This is the first extended warrantee I've bought. My truck will be one yr old in August. My only issue has been the door locks in cold weather.
