Default Extended Service Plan

Has anyone purchased a Ford ESP recently? I am thinking about either the Premium Care or Extra Care. Premium Care covers the most - including options I do not have. I have a 2016 Super Crew XLT.

Looking at the 8 year / 125K plans. Thanks.

You'll get a slew of various opinions ranging from "don't waste your money" to "you won't regret it."

Do you really plan to keep the truck eight years? Will you drive it hard? Just a few electronic components going out could pay for the ESP. Like any insurance, it's a gamble and the only ones who buy it and say it was a waste of money just never had to use it.

But DON'T Buy it from your dealer. You can save hundreds of dollars buying one through an online dealer. These are the real deal, official Ford ESPs, not aftermarket.

Here's one of the best and beat out several others even with their special forum discounts.

I just got my truck a couple of weeks ago. Im probably going to buy the Premium plan.
Just remember that that eight years is total time, NOT in addition to the 3/36 Factory warranty.

There are literally dozens of threads on this, you should find them and read them.

Kensterfly gives great advice about using the online dealers, although I disagree with his decision to buy one.

Too bad we can't lock this thread now, because his reply covers it all.

I bought on through my credit union. Bumper to bumper Zero deductible. Expensive, but so are electronic repairs. Have already used it twice on my truck.

I believe your financial institution will sell these to you at a savings over Manufacturer.

Just be aware these are 3rd party warranties and sometimes can be cumbersome to get reimbursement.

I am aware of the benefits of buying online as well as the strong opinions on whether or not they are worthwhile. What I am interested in knowing is if you purchased an ESP recently, which one did you choose and why? I am considering the Premium or Extra Care for my 2016 XLT.

Shawn, I will be buying Ford ESP through Flood Ford.
I rarely drive more than 4000 to 5000 miles a year so will probably get the
6 or 7 year 50000 mile Premium plan.

Just bought one from Flood Ford for my Lincoln MKT, we bought the premium care with lighting coverage. Be aware the standard premium care doesn't cover HIDs if your truck is so equipped. The extra coverage is 60 bucks, one HID on the Lincoln was 400. We were previously covered by a CPO warranty and extended it two more years and up to 140k. Everything on this lincoln is covered, and right now its taking care of the rear diff and couple other minor caliper issues.

Got the Premium my self from Flood Ford, like Ken said, only takes one ac compressor or computer module to go bad that will pay for the warranty on the first visit. I went with 7yr/75000 only because I don't drive much, between my job being less than 2 miles from home and my motorcycle none of my conveyances gather much mileage.
