Default Exhaust damage under transmission.

Headed home from work got stuck in the middle lane, had to run over a long piece of metal in the road that was either angle iron or strut. Made a pretty loud bang and left some gashes in the exhaust. How worried about this should I be? I took a small flathead screwdriver and kinda ran it through the gashes, it didn't seem to puncture through anywhere. What's even more unfortunate is that I plan on taking the truck to the dealer soon for transmission issues. I'm hoping they don't try to **** me and chalk it up to this, there isn't a mark anywhere else on the undercarriage.

You will either need to play dumb or pay a deductible to your insurance... maybe both.

Looks like no big deal to me. Didn't even dent the piping.

Thanks for the input. I will probably file a claim eventually to get the piping replaced. I know it's not too serious but it bothers me none the less.

file a claim, to get exhaust piping replaced?
How much is your deductible?

The piping isn't even dented. I think you are overreacting a bit if I'm honest.

250. I probably am however these trucks are an OCD guys worst ****ing nightmare, between the ticking and squealing, horrible transmission shifting, I just wanted to make sure the scratches weren't going to result in some kind of catastrophic failure. Really though that being there and me knowing about it is just as bad as a scratch down the side of the truck to me.

It would be cheaper to just buy a pipe and replace, than go through the whole insurance claim. Simple!
