Default ESP vs 3rd party EW

Hi y’all
Recently bought 2023 F150 EB 3.5L with currently 39,000 miles.

I was advised by friends to purchase extended warranty, after doing some research online I learned that there are 2 different types of warranty, the Ford ESP plan and all the other 3rd party companies who offer warranty such as Carshield and etc.

I’m kinda under the impression that the ford ESP plan is better since they approve claims more frequently and being a Ford sponsored company I find it to be more valuable.

I'm just looking for some guidance and advice here so I can make the best decision. Thank you very much.

Don’t waste your time with any 3rd party stuff.

I talked to my local S Manager about it. He said to stay away from the big TV names you see. He said, they likely might pay a part of the bill, leaving you holding the bag or your vehicle stuck at the repair facility.
Ford Protect (ESP) plans are serviced at all Ford Dealers nation wide.
There are Ford dealers that offer discounts on Ford Protect such as Granger, Flood, Ziegler. Call around to get the best price.

Get the Ford ESP if you intend to buy "peace of mind" repair insurance. As mentioned, several online dealerships sell it at half the cost your local dealer will charge. I bought one and never used it which is pretty typical. No way would anyone sell you a product like that and not expect to make money from it. Just my 2 cents

Researching this as well, not to hijack thread
Ziegler reviews seem legit. Price is probably best online right now. Could get premium for 9yrs/100K for 2K with promo code, I'm thinking that's probably worth it

Yes to Ford ESP warranties, no to 3rd party warranties.

I have never heard anything good about any 3rd party warranty. I went with the Ford ESP for my 2026 F150 Tremor. That $1000-$2000 savings on a 3rd party warranty might go away quick if they don't cover something.
