I'm out of the mpg posts..for those that do not believe...wtf do you think I get out of it? Incase you can't see my signature...I have a regular cab shortbed...that accounts for some of it...the rest... I live in flat as a pancake chicago...no hills....I drive like old people **** because I'm in a truck not a Ferrari. Half my daily commute is at midnight...no traffic... going in can take anywhere from 40 minutes to 1.5 hours depending on traffic...
Im so done with posting mpg....just thought some might like to see whats possible....
Search and or keep your eyes open. I am not the only one to post mileage like this

I am really sorry that you posted about 26mpg while city driving and towing and I can't figure out how to get that and I am frustrated. Don't be offended that I find the nearly impossible to be nearly impossible. The pics don't help me to become a believer. I think all around every engine is getting about 15mpg with normal driving and I don't know what you get out of it? Whether it is desired attention or promoting the 2.7 or if you just have a super-truck is between you and you. I don't blame you for being defensive either.

I know your gonna come back to respond to this and do not take offense, I'm not even gonna read it, so if I do not reply...thats why
here, this will make you blow a gasket??.... the 20 mile stretch of my nightly commute is a 45mph construction zone. I do 45 with the cruise on.... look what that avg is...lol

Your talking to the wrong guy. The hyper-milers get that driving accross the country at 45--not just 20.7. What irks me it that it is phony. The way most people drive F150's they all the engines get around 15 mpg and my truth is the V8 gets the best mileage running above 70. I know people that transport vehicles for Ford. They all say the same thing that on the hwy the V8 gets the best mileage. My truth is that the EPA test is a total joke and I have seen it. It simulates driving in a way that would be hazardous because it obstructs traffic. I don't blame Ford for building vehicles to excel on the EPA test--they have pressure to do that.

I just had my best week of MPG. Just over 21. I rarely exceeded 60 on the hwy which was most of the driving. My estimate is about 23 on hwy and 15 in the city. I got off the gas early, rolled most of the stop signs and did everything I could to save gas. During the week I never passed anyone.

Welcome to the Hyper Milers club. I have a Garmin Nuvi-Cam that records averages of speed, distance, elevation etc. so that you can see how fast you drove and my average MPH since day one is 51 MPH, so that EPA of 45 MPH is not far from the mark. I drive on 55 MPH roads every day and average 60 MPH on them, so mix in my short city driving with the highway and it comes out right around EPA.
Keep in mind though, the EPA is slow as a slug and these averages are still set to the old standards when the Interstate system was 55 MPH. Also EPA classifies Highway as anything that is not regulated by traffic lights and whose average MPH is 45-55, which is a good majority of all the roads in America, very few non Interstate roads are over 55 MPH. It is also foolish do do more than 65 on these roads unless they are wide open flat areas where you can see for miles, as most are tree lined or have corn fields, side roads, driveways, etc. and are patrolled regularly and they will pull you over doing 64MPH on them. Deer is the biggest reason why you don't push the speed on them. I was doing 60 and had one leap out of the trees, I never saw it until it was right in front of my truck and BAM. Thankfully it was a small doe, or my bags may have gone off. I also have idiots who don't look and pull out of the side roads. All of these are good reasons not to go much over 55.
Interstate OTOH, whole different story. They are just a very small portion of the actual highways out there and range from 55-80 in speeds. The percentage of miles at those speeds though aren't enough to raise the EPA standards.
As a side note to my mention of not pushing speeds on back road highways, a few weeks ago a guy was killed driving his F150. He blew a stop sign on a side road and got T-boned by another driver who had the right of way. http://mchenrycountyblog.com/2016/08...th-of-harvard/
Also a good reason to wear a seat belt, he might have survived if he did. Well you know who won the Darwin Award that day.
