Default Engine Tunes

Hey all, I recently had a true dual exhaust installed on my 06 f150 as well as a cold air intake and edge programmer. Will the programmer incorporate the cold air intake and exhaust into the new tune or will I need to unplug the battery for the factory tune prior to using the programmer?

Edge is a canned device - it cannot correct for a CAI. Even Edge states unequivocally that their tuning is for the OEM intake only.

'Unplugging the battery' will accomplish nothing.

An exhaust requires no tuning corrections.

Neither mod adds any power.

RE-Install the stock intake, and go get some custom tunes for yer Edge from PHP.

Both CAI and True Dual Exhaust are supposed to add Horsepower. I assume that's what you meant when you said power. Also, the edge is canned but allows for a custom tune. What would I need to change to compensate for the CAI and Exhaust system? I would like to know how to get maximum HP and also be able to get the best gas mileage.

You are mistaken - Neither mod adds any hp or tq. Whomever told you it's supposed to is selling them for a profit and nothing more.

Edge allows for Custom Settings - NOT actual fully comprehensive strategy-matched custom tuning. Try entering a corrected MAF Transfer function for yer CAI via yer canned Edge and tell me how that went. I'll save you the effort & embarrassment - You Can't.

You need to get the thing Gryphonized by PHP ( firmware update), then buy custom calibrations which you then load on the device. These calibrations will include the necessary corrections IF you tell them exactly which CAI you have.

You have much to learn.... return the intake to STOCK until you get some custom calibrations.
