Default elecrical?

Here's a topic I'd like to see if anyone has any experience with. My 97 F150 has 189,000 miles on it. A little while back the OD light started blinking on and off so I took it in. The Ford dealership said it was the transmission. I thought he might have been right because it would wind way out before shifting. Not wanting to spend the $ on a new transmission, Ikept driving it. That was several thousand ago. I've also noticed that sometimes my power windows work and sometimes not. The auto door locks will sometimes wait for a few miles before locking. Sorry for the long story but a few days ago someone drove my 97 and said my transmission problem is electrical. Does anyone have any incite on this. Is it possible that it's electrical or is this guy crazy?

as soon as you touch the brake, after puting it in drive, the doors should auto lock. it's a safty feature. but sometimes the door switch sticks and will auto lock down the road a ways. mine douse the same thing, rofl. you're tranny, drive it till you smoke it. then rebuild or rebuild now. mine went out at 132,000. complete rebuild, new torque converter and shift kit.

Thanks for the reply. I just thought it was strange that it has lasted this long with the problems it has had.

I think the autolocks work when you hit like 10mph. You might have a speed sensor problem IF the two are somehow related.
