Default Edna

I've got a 1990 F150 ext. cab with the 4.9L engine and the 5 speed tranny.

Her name is Edna.

Edna doesn't like to tell me much about my turn signals. The instrument panel lights are half hidden by the steering wheel and not very bright at all. The sound made by the flasher is so low that I can't hear it over the engine or any other sounds. In fact, I can only hear it when I'm sitting in the driveway late at night with nothing else around making a sound. This is a problem because sometimes the turn signal is left switched on and I don't notice it. I don't like being the geezer that can't manage his turn signals.

I've looked for after-market stuff that would give me better cues either by increasing the sound of clicking or by adding brighter lights - or both. I've found nothing.

So, I got to thinking about adding some lights on the front fenders that are wired into the flashers. I've found a few, but before I went down that road, I thought I'd ask you guys how you would solve the problem

Thanks in advance . . .
