Default Ecoboost oil filter issue

Hey y'all, I'm new to the site and don't mean to scare ya. I've had my ecoboost since start of feb and just love it. Everything about it is just incredible. I've got 6000 KM's on it now (yes I'm up in Canada... They told me I was first to get the ecoboost up here... Not sure), and I want to change the oil and filter just to get all the new engine crap outta there. If you look on your filter, there's a sticker on it saying "service with filter fl-2500, it will be larger in size" or something like that. The ford dealer gave me what their computer said is the correct one fl 500s I think, and it was halfthe size. After arguing a bit, they called up head office and they said heck no it ain't the right one, ok in an emergency situation but not a good replacement. They said the actual filters are still in production and will be available across N. America next week or so...
Just thought I'd give you the heads up.
Man I love my truck.
Cheers eh!

Also, not sure what the conversion is, with my tools in the bed, I'm gettin 11.5L/ 100 KM's and 14 in the city. I hauled a twin axle landscaping trailer with 2 snowmobiles and loaded with other heavy junk and was getting 19L/100km on the hwy, uphill slope all the way. On the way back my inlaws took the trailer, empty, back, downhill slope, in their Denali and got 24L/100km's. They wish they got the ecoboost...

Good info. Thanks for the post. I was just thinking about getting the oil changed in a thousand miles or so. I'm glad you're loving the truck. I couldn't be happier with mine so far. It's almost time to get the boat out. I'll be posting some light towing numbers in about a month.

Cheers!

Thanks for the info on this. Just got my new EB Lariat this week! Haven't even found the filter yet, but I will have 2k miles on her in about 2 wks so I hope I can find an oil filter. I will be servicing it and will use synthetic 5-30w..Anyone have a link to buy the right size new oil filter?
