what is the optimun speed for best gas mileage

The rule of thumb for most vehicles is 55mph, but my 2008 fx4 is 62 mph. So I guess it depends on the vehicle.

Amen to the 55. My 2009 5.4 will beat 21 at 55. Doesn't do that very often though; can't stand to drive that slow.
