This may have been reported already, if so I apologize.
At: www.foxnews.com, there is a report on a 10HP increase in the EcoBoost 3.5 with 470#ft of torque which is a boost of 50#-ft.
It beats the Chevy Silverados 6.2 liter V8 for best in class honors by 10#-ft.
Tried to do a quick quote of it. Enjoy the read.

I have long been critical of the EgoBoost engine family, mostly because they are NOT economical so their very name is a lie. And because they are very sophisticated and complicated engines which means the odds of them having equal longevity with a traditional V8 are low (and TSBs/recalls have shown this to actually be true). So obviously I'm not a fan.
BUT... I will admit that starting next year, the F-150 is going to be an interesting package. You're going to have weight savings with the aluminum body, more gears in the transmission (jury is out on whether that provides any real benefit), and 470 lbs/ft of twist at low RPMs. The '17s are going to be rocket ships. I'll bet that we'll see 13.XX second 1/4 mile times from stock trucks which is just mind boggling considering that muscle cars were happy to run 13s only six or seven years ago. In addition, the towing ability on the '17 F-150 will be approaching what 3/4-ton trucks were doing 10 years ago. (Not talking about published numbers, I'm talking about real world comfort and ability in towing out on the road.)
It's going to be pretty interesting to see the journalists' reviews of this new '17 F-150. I will admit that.

I have already appreciated the 2.7L constant performance, say pulling hills with passing lanes and the effortless performance it maintains through all shift points with very little accelerator. Would recommend the 3.73 E locker Sport package with trailer tow to all buyers even if you seldom tow the 3 tunes are great.
