Added 3 more grommets to the flag and a few clips in the middle for quick change

i did this with a 5/16" whip and i first put some duct-tape on the pole to stop it from sliding and then safety-wired it over the rape. pretty solid and somewhat permanent. good idea on mounting the flag here tho.

Looking at this, it doesn't seem like theres enough room in a 91 f150 to mount it there. Does this only work on newer trucks?

not sure since im not too familiar with the older trucks. the fitment on mine is pretty snug. the only thing holding the flag in place is the rubber stopper in the tailgate being compressed against it.

so I been looking for decent poles for my truck flags, but I plan on mounting them closer to the cab where a toolbox might be. the holder is pvc pipe fixed with u brackets and a bolt going through the pole and pipe with a wing nut for security . I see the pics with this fiberglass pole and it looks great but no videos. fiberglass bounces back to original shape easy , but how bad is the bend at speeds ? I'm flying 3x5 flags and don't want the poles bending over like mad , I always assumed fiberglass bent easier then aluminum or steel

if you're going to put a flag on, at least put it on the correct side. Which would be the (right) passenger side if by itself.

Sooo any of you 2015/2016 guys figure out how to mount these? I ordered mine, ordered 2. They are 1 piece (gotta love the shipping package the guy made out of boxes)

But I can't figure out an "elegant" way to mount it.

If i remove the 2 plastic cushions from the tailgate, it'll fit in there, but it can move up/down.

For my purposes (truck shows) it'll work as I'll be stationary with flags going, but I was hoping to put some american flags up there to drive around with... but I know the poles will slide down and what not.

So any ideas... what did you guys do on the 2015/2016

I know this is a scandal to post on a Ford forum, but would this method work on an 07 chevy silverado classic? I can't see how the tailgate would vary too drastically but i want to make sure before I buy it

Added mine today. Adding in a tool holder clip to keep it in place so when I open the tailgate it doesn't slip down.
