i got a 93 f150 with the 4.9l and my friend called me the other day seeing if i can find info about swaping his 99 f250 v10 over to e85 and i was thinking bout it to as i read some stuff about it.

but how hard would it be to convert over to e85?

my 4.9l might be easy because some of the stuff i need to do for compression and spark are already done.

i told my friend that he will get crappier mpg but he still kind of wants to do it.

just want to see what you guys say about it

 

You can do that? Haha, don't know why you would want to run ethanol through your engine but it's your truck do whatever. I imagine it would probably be as hard as converting diesel engines to veggie, maybe harder.

 

i dont know if i am going to do it, im just wondering about it. my friend mainly wants to do it and i told him it would be expesive to convert his v10 over but he wants me to look into it. doesnt really hurt to see what you guys think

 

Not sure how hard it would be but it would be a waste of time..... unless he works at a ethanol plant and thus can make his own e-85....


I put e-85 in my truck once just to see what milage I would get....


e-85 was like 30 cents a mile while 91 octane was 23 cents a mile
