Hey all i am new to this forum. So if this question has been posted before please direct me to where it is. Here goes i have a 1994 f-150 with the elusive E4OD in it. My truck has 200xxx miles on it. It was shifting really hard in to all gears. That lasted for about a month. then bang no forward gears.just reverse. Long story short found a used E4OD for 400.00 I bought it put it in. That was about 3 weeks ago. The trans shifted excellent for about a week. Then it started acting up. one day pulling into drive way went from drive to reverse and it locked up. would not move. So i left it sent for about an hr or so. went out and went to reverse and it banged into reverse and i just parked it. statrted up the next day and it shifted like a dream?????????? after some research found out VSS was bad and changed. Seemed to fix it. But how wrong was i. Now i put it in reverse and have to give it a little gas before it will engage???? then it doesnt always want to down shift after a stop?? Starts in Second. Then other times it acts like there isnt a problem and shifts like a brand new one??? My o/d light flashes sometimes.. I need some help i have exhausted all my ideas of what it could be.
