I have herculiner in my truck. For what is mostly in my bed, dirtbikes, it is great. But when you drag an 8 or 8.8 inch rear end across the bed it kind of scratches down to bare metal. I would recomend it to anybody not doing a lot of heavy dragging and hauling in the bed.

I used the Dupli-color Bed Armor kit. I picked it up at Canadian Tire. I'm sure any parts place in the states has them. I haven't had any issues with it, once its dry it really hard and I've tried to peel it and chisel it off to test it and it doesn't it really good stuff. for $100 vs $1500 for a linex its worth it for me.

Any diy kit that is non catalyzed won't be worth anything if you plan to use your bed much , there are a few spray yourself kits that are catalyzed, SEM makes one, raptor liner and I believe another. Kits are usually about $200-$250 for a gallon with a quart of activator and the spray gun. Have used this a lot for undercoating an stuff. Works awesome and definitely lasts well IF YOUR PREP WORK IS GOOD. It's all in the prep. This will be a hard textured finish that is more codusive to allowin you to slide stuff across it. So it will be a little slick when wet.

But at the same point you'll have several hundred for the kit and everything and usually if you shop around local places will have bed lining specials ranging from $600-850 depending on bed an whatnot. The only thing is if you do a lot of sliding stuff in and out of your bed this isn't a great option because my experience is stuff doesn't slide on them. Pallets and boards and parts all get scratched up. But you will have plenty of traction in wet conditions.

Just my $.02 on it. Regardless though it's a truck and nothing is perfect and you could spend $800 on a Bedliner and a rusty nail on a pallet digs right through the Bedliner. Some places will offer warranty so you should really just shop around and talk to shops, can't stress enough to not worry about going to a shop and talking with the owner or an employee about what you're looking for ( that carries over to anything like this, ie paint and body shops etc) a good shop will be honest and give you their opinion and may be able to give you a better price than you'd expect, it varies everywhere.

Good luck!

Here is a pic of the gun you spray raptor liner with, the actual product that you then mix with a provided activator an the spray out

Complete crap. Spend the money and get Line-X. I helped my brother with a do it yourself bedliner in one of his old trucks and we spent a full day prepping it and applying it and it still peeled off whenever he hauled something.

$1500 for line-x? Where are you shopping?

OP, expect to pay 4-500 for a quality line-x job that is guaranteed for life.

My 5.5' bed cost $525 here in the upstate of SC. Oils def pay that instead of trying to DIY.

I live in Canada, we get screwed for prices. My father in law got his new super duty done cost him $1800 at a linex dealer. my dad got his 2010 done cost $1490. through Ford is no better they charge a markup for them to take the truck to get done, so its even more expensive if you order the truck with it. another example is the sill plates. $30 in the states, $300 up here. stuff is cheaper for you guys thats why i have a shipping address and get stuff from the US
