Default Driveshaft vibration

Hi guys, been a while.
Have a 2011 5.0 FX2 Supercrew with 6.5 ft bed. Had a driveshaft clonk for a while, had the splines re greased. The clonk is now gone but i have a vibration or should i say deep groan that you can feel at around 60 mph, this was always there but worse on some days than others. I naturally assumed it was the lack of grease on the splines but clearly not. I am going to replace the carrier bearing but can't for the life of me work out the right part number,

Does anyone have this please?

Many thanks

Don’t know if you got your answer or resolved the issue. But the carrier bearing on the factory driveshaft is not replaceable. On top of that greasing the splines on the slip yoke isn’t a permanent fix more so continual maintenance.

I just received my new drive shaft today from Driveshaft Specialist Inc. They are based out of Texas. Will be installing after work. Their driveshaft has a serviceable carrier bearing.

I’ve been dealing with the slip yoke bump since I got my truck back in 2014. Tried everything. Also have driveline vibrations that I hope the new shaft will fix.

I'd spend more time figuring out what would make a "deep groan that you can feel at around 60 mph". Not sure that your ideas actually fit the problem. Don't really know, just saying that the connection seems tenuous. Good luck.

let us know if your new driveshaft fixed the issue. How much was it? I also have the 6.5ft bed and from 67-70ish I get a driveline vibration.

I had the slip yoke fix done on my '11 F150 with the 6.2 a long time ago. Still been fine. Did you remove the driveshaft to do the lubrication? Or did you have it done at a shop. The driveshaft and rear axle flange should have been marked before the u-joint bolts were removed. If the driveshaft isn't reinstalled with the correct orientation, it could cause an out of balance situation.

The Slip bump fix is a case by case bases. From what I’ve seen most peeps never fix it, like myself.

Also I installed my new drive shaft. Drove it to work. A little bit of city driving and highway. It’s smooth like butter I tell you what! No driveline vibrations too. It ran me about $850 shipping included.

The OEM driveshaft would have cost me $500 but I didn’t want to end up with the dreaded slip bump again. And the new shaft is design a little different than the OEM version. Improved if you will.

Trust me I’ve been troubleshooting my driveshaft for a while. In and out of ford dealerships. When i would grease it myself I’d completely remove the shaft from the yoke and packed it with grease (tried every type of grease imaginable)

Also the vibrations weren’t from the shaft splines being misaligned I insured every time the everything was in phase
