Default Driver Side Door

On the 2010 F150's is there a way to disconnect or cover up the sensor that lets the "computer" know the door is open?

In older vehicles you used to just tape down the **** in the door jam.

I'm trying to get rid of the door chime and the outside lights from coming on when I open the door.

thanks

Search the forum for "door chime," instructions are in your manual. I am not sure of the outside lights, but for security reasons, I wouldn't cover up the switch.

I don't know about the 2010, but the manual for the 2002 has instructions for turning off door chimes and seat belt chimes.

was able to disarm the seat belt chime but not the door, couldn't find it anywhere in the 2010 manual.

I doubt it's in the manual. Why do you want the door ajar switch disabled? If you want it disabled that badly, you could cut the wires to the switch and cap them, or reverse it and wire the two together if the fore doesn't work.

You might have an issue with the security system though if it thinks that the doors are always shut, even though you lock, unlock, start the vehicle, turn it off, etc. I don't know much about the computer in these trucks, but I figure I'd give you some ideas.

Good luck.
