Default Are drive modes standard?

Hi everyone,
Wanna-be F150 owner here. I test drove a 2020 XLT this morning. As I was checking to make sure everything worked, I tried to find the drive modes (e.g., Eco, Sport, etc.) in the system. There weren’t any drive modes available. I was under the impression that at least some of the drive modes were standard in all F150s. Is this not the case?

Thanks for any input you may have.

Thanks for your reply. This one also has the bucket seats with console shifter. Is the button actually on the shifter, on the left side?

FWIW, the sales person couldn’t figure it out either. And he has a F150.

Yes it should be on the left side of the gear shifter. As far as I know every F150 I have been in had all of the drive modes including my 2 XL’s which are changed with a button on the end of the steering column shifter.

Thanks! And I found the answer on YouTube as well. I had completely missed that little button on the floor shifter when I was test driving.

My 2016 has Tow/Haul; Sport: Normal.
Not sure when Eco; Snow; etc were introduced but it was after 2016 at least. Don't try looking hard for those modes if you're in a year like I indicate. The switch location is unchanged between a 2016 and 2020 though.

Is this a Ford dealer? If the guy trying to sell you the vehicle, has the same type of vehicle & doesn't know much about it, that should tell you something.

When I picked up my ordered 2017 I explained to the salesman what did what. He did not know either. KM

Everybody is suggesting the seller/salesman should have been able to answer your question.

I'll come at it from another direction -did you bother to ask?
Were you solo on a test drive?
