My 2020 F150 2.7 recently had a check engine light to come on. I use my scanner tool and a P420 and a P430 codes came up which are for both catalytic converters. I did some research and found that a software update can fix this and it seems to be common. I called the dealership set up an appointment. When arriving they tell me that they may have to keep my truck up to seven days before they can even analyze it. Ridiculous. On the Seventh day, the guy calls me and says your software is up to date, both your cats are bad and it will cost you $5100 to fix it. Your warranty doesn’t cover it. I did some more research and tried the Italian tuneup. I got some cat cleaner put it in my tank, drove for 12 miles and filled up with high test. The codes went off. I hope they stay off. From my understanding high sulphur content in gas can trigger the codes. Maybe this will help someone else.
