Door Latch Striker Bolt Replacement Assistance
I adjusted my door latch a bit snugger but I used a Torx 40 and not a Torx PLUS 40. It is still manageable but I stripped a bit the teeth when using the regular torx. Enough that I can't get the torx plus to fit properly.
I'm going to replace the bolt now that I have the proper Torx PLUS size. I'm concerned if I need to adjust the bolt in the future I'm going to have damaged it enough that I won't be able to so better to replace it for a couple bucks.
Are there any special considerations I need to be aware of here? I will look for a torque spec. But just want to be sure that I'm not missing anything during replacement. Hopefully just a matter of removing the old one and torquing the new one to spec.
If you happen to have a torque spec, that would be helpful.
FYI, truck is a 2023. I suspect the same bolt has been used since 2015 though so I imagine the procedure is the same whether 13th or 14th gen....
