Is there any way to disable the dinger for when I open my door with the keys in the ignition in an 01???

 

If you do disable it you will also kill the headlight reminder buzzer.

 

My headlights go off automatically so no worries there, just hate the dinging with door open.. No way to disable?

 

Turn key to "on" position, depress retainer for lock cylinder, pull cylinder from column. Remove buzzer actuator which is snap-fitted to cylinder, and re-install cylinder. Save the part to re-install later, after you have locked the keys inside a couple of times.

 

Hahahah! I wanted to do the same thing, but I have the key pad on the door so now worries aobut keys in the truck! Thanks for the info though.
