Boring would give it more power in the upper RPM.
Stroking would give it more low end.
Don't think they'll put it in a truck.

The 5.0 or the 3.5 already make more power than the truck can legaly handle and with the CAFE standards getting tighter every year I think your going to find smaller more efficiant engines in the future truck line.

No Ford will not, no need to have a 5.8 in between the 5.0 and 6.2

Agreed, I think as long as they're making both the 5.0 AND the 6.2 they wont need the 5.8

There is no legal limet for power there is a limet to what the truck can do with it you only have so much traction the drive train parts can only handle so much torque and the govener will only let it go so fast. I realise that each of these can be dissabled or beefed up but it is a truck not a race car and each of the current engines will move the truck within the design limets. for Ford or any manufacture to design and build a whole new drive train and suspension for such a small market would not be profitable. then you add to the mix the epa national trafic safety board cafe standards and a host of other govenment regs I would not look for it any time soon. Anyway thats what the after market is for.

That's where the Eco Boost, GDI, and Variable Intake Runners come in to play.

Quick Reply: do you think they will put the new 5.8 liter in the F-150?
