I can remember back in the day when my parents had cars that had 68-75,000 miles on them and the engine, transmission and other parts were falling apart. Now days with 100,000-200,000 and more are common, a question comes up.
Two trucks the same. Both with a sticker price of $50,000. Truck A is one year old and has 100,000 miles on it. Truck B is one year old and has 18,000 miles on it. Take them to the same dealer to trade in for a new truck, what could one expect for trade in price you would get for these trucks? Does miles make a BIG difference today? Your trading them in for another $50,000 truck.

What you can get for a trade in varies wildly. Yes 18k vs 100k miles makes a big difference in trade in because it makes a big difference in what they expect a buyer to pay.
That said you assume 100k on a 1 year old vehicle is almost all highway/interstate so it's viewed better than a 5 year old 100k mile, as in, the mileage difference means less than the same mileage difference on an older truck.
BTW you won't get even a wild *** guess at trade value on a truck when you don't say a darn thing about what it is. Sticker price isn't all that useful lacking any other info

Yes, all the different toys on the truck sure could make a big difference.
.
I did check it at KBB. About $7,000 difference. Less than I expected.

Mileage matters, it's the life of the vehicle. Got to watch some of these guys that will try to sell you a vehicle and say it's just road miles, they do that to sell a high mileage vehicle and make you think you're getting a new one.200,000 is a lot of miles, even today.
