Do I need to replace differential cover when changing fliud?
Hi Everyone,
I have a 2011 F150 ecoboost. If changing the differential fliud do I have to replace the cover as well? Or is it just good maintenence?

The cover doesnt need to be changed at all. After removing the cover to drain the fluid out all you need to do is clean off the sealing surface and reapply sealant. A better option is a Lube Locker gasket.

OP do your self a favor and use a lube locker gasket if they have one for your year Truck.

They require no messy sealants and some say they're even reusable.
I used them on both of my XJ's differentials and the hardest part was picking out the previous sealants out of the bolt holes.
Well worth the money IMO.

You don't need to change out the cover but if you're going to keep the the truck for a while, you could replace the cover with one that has a drain plug in it. That way the next fluid changes will be a lot quicker and easier.
