Thumbs down disapointing stereo

i have a 2010 f150 with factory sync stereo( no nav). Why ford give you a expensive voice recognition system and forgot about the stereo(music). i can not go over half volume without pick serious distorsion. The worst; there is not aftermarket solution yet; unless you cut an ugly hole in the dash and install what you want then fill it up with bondo.... FORD drop the ball in the stereo, They may think that a truck guy do not listen music only use the time to train the sync system as a hobby..... 1 to 10 rate (10 best) the factory stereo is 3.

I do not know why either. Most cars nowadays come with a fairly decent factory amped system standard. The Ford stereo is junk. They are acting like it is still the 70's when cars came with junk stereos.

I kept the factory head unit in mine, 2009 FX4. Upgraded all the speakers to Pioneers, ran new wires from the head unit to a MTX Req-5 sound processor, then from there to a 4-channel amp for the speakers and a 1 channel mono amp for the sub. Put a sealed 10 inch sub under the rear passenger seat like the factory setup. I mounted everything behind the rear seat. Sounds great and looks factory. I chose the "premium" system over the factory Sony system because I knew I was gonna be replacing all that stuff anyway. I listened to the Sony system a few times while shopping for trucks and was not impressed at all. My total investment was under $400.

I've had my 2010 F150 for a few months now. It came
with the, I guess the standard stereo with CD player.
I turned the volume all the way up and had no distorsion
what so ever. The bass was factory set at mid range and
when I turned it to full bass, the whole truck shook.

I'm not a loud music lover by any means but I think
Ford put a very good unit in my F150..
