Default Dirt in Tailgate

Whenever I load my 2022 F150 truck bed w/ dirt and shovel out that dirt, I get dirt through the openings into the bottom of the tailgate. Besides taping off those openings, any other ideas on preventing this from occurring?

There was a company that sold a gap shield that was rubber and stuck to the bed and covered the gap opening when open.
I don't know anything about the quality or how well it adhered.

Perfect. I found several gap shield brands available at Real Truck, Amazon & other sites. Thx for the help.
