Difference in tire sizes

Difference in tire sizes
Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows how much of a difference I could tell by switching tire sizes....I currently run 285s, but am considering trying 265s because of price and the tire I may be going to does not come in a 285, just 265. I mainly stay on-road, but i do venture off-road some for camping and launching a boat. I have always had all-terrain, and I always will. Thanks for any info.

The difference between the two sizes is only 2cm in width and a small reduction in circumference with the 265. For all intents I don't think you will see much difference, except in your bank balance.
