Default Did i get screwed?

I just bought a brand new 2011 4x4 super-crew 157' V8 FFV engine electronic 6 spd, auto. It came with am/fm stereo/clock/single cd/36 gallon, Texas edition, trailer tow package off road package 3.73 electronic lock RR axle, skid plates, XLT convenience package-power pedals, sync voice , power signal heated mirrors, power driver seat, XLT plus package, power sliding rear window, rear defroster/defogger, reverse sensing system, box side steps, rear view camera, XLT chrome package-chrome step bar, 18' wheels, leather bucket seats and center console, 6 month sat radio, and spray in bed liner, and front leveling kit. the msrp was 41,225 before the leather seats, front leveling kit and spray in bed liner. I worked them to 34,995 with TTL that is that was my drive out price with the leather front leveling kit and spray in bed liner. So how did I do? could i have gotten a better deal? or did i get screwed? any and all comments are really appreciated oh and this was the first vehicle that I have ever bought on my own.

Yes, you bought a new truck. I buy all my vehicles slightly used. If I can't pay cash for it I don't buy it. The plus side is you have a brand new truck to drive for a few months before it becomes just another used truck.

Yeah you got screwed. Truck value drops 5-8G when you drive it off the lot. Next time buy an owner tested one.

Your new to the site Welcome aboard

This comes off to many as a " Self Medication Thread " You bought a new truck with all these extras and your looking for some redemption.

Truth is that you got the truck at what you thought was fair and thats all that counts...

Many look at overall price; I look at payments a month - Brand New your looking at somewhere around 6 years; if you paid $10k cheaper then the next guy but your payments are $800 a mth and you can only afford $600 then who really got the bad deal

If you can handle your payment with ease every month then no one else should care what you paid totally; it all works out in the end.

I have never driven up to a Bad A truck sitting on 35's 8 inchs High and think " Damn I wonder if he over paid for that "

My question to you????

Are you Happy as Heck or What ? thats all that matters

I think you did pretty good. Most I have read says on average if you get 8% off and then take the rebates you did pretty darn good.

So on your truck take off about $3,300 and then the published Ford rebates and that is your target price. You may find a guy here or there who gets a few hundred better but that is pretty much target as advised in a thread from a dealer sales guy.

Don't sweat these jerks who say buy used or you got screwed. They are just pissed cause they don't get the new car smell you do!

From a purely financial viewpoint, it is generally accepted that used is a better value. I bought new my first time around and then used this time. I got a '09 King Ranch with only 20k on the clock. I would have never dropped the coin for a new version but the depreciation on it made it a good deal for me.

Of course then you might not get to be so picky on options and you never know what kind of maintenance or driving habits the previous owner had.

Good advice Muddz; maybe stay away from the "jerk" remarks - that's not cool from a Jr member

How much did you pay for your King Ranch; 20k miles is great

I had the option to buy new with a almost nothing payment monthly but I chose used only because I wanted to be able to walk away if I got a lemon.

You can get a new Lemon just as easy as an used Lemon....again its all in the way you look at it

I say drive that bitz like you stole it and laugh at people like me sitting next to you at a red light in a 2005....lol

You did allright. Most people don't sell rigs that are in good shape and running perfectly, so you end up buying other peoples' problems. Plus, you have warranty now, in case something does go wrong.

You did good. You got a new truck, you got what you wanted, and you were happy with the deal.

I bought my truck, got a new truck, got what I wanted with it, and was very happy when I drove it home. I did good also.

Enjoy your truck...no matter how good a deal you made, someone else is gonna say they did better. Maybe they did, maybe they are a liar....

Congrats Farguell!!! Yeah peeps have differing opinions on the whole buy new or used and both have good arguments. The main thing is to never over pay for anything so it seems like you got a good deal. I prefer new because if I can afford it I rather have something of my own and not a hand me down BUT good used rides exist so on occasion I will go that route.

So in the end if you can afford it then be happy with it and do not dwell on the what ifs unless it is some hot chick you could have nailed but didn't. Lord knows I took the good guy route one too many times....but that...is another story. Grats!
