Default Diameter of 265 70 17?????

Just what the title says. I was wondering if some one could give me height in inches. I'm getting goodyear wrangler authoritys this week.

I got those, haven't been let down yet, they do good on road and in some loose stuff, but haven't had a chance for any mud yet. They hum a bit at 60. And they look badass!

Ok I may try to go 285 70 17 then ill just have to check around around on prices.

Remember, the 285 is the width, not height. The aspect ratio, or the 70 in 285/70R17 tells you heigh

W (265mm or 10.433in) X Aspect ratio (70% or.70) X 2 + rim size (17")= diameter (31.6")

At least that's the way I was always told.

Partially. 70 is the percentage, of the width, which in this case is 285 mms, that 1 sidewall is to the rim.

The overall height therefore is:

285mm * 0.7 x 2 + 17 inches = 32.71 inches when the tire is fully inflated. Yes, you have to convert mm's to inches, or vice versa, and add 2 sidewall measurements.
