Default Destination Til Empty?

A few months ago when I filled my truck up all the way with gas, I noticed the destination til empty was about 443 miles. Lately, it has been more around the 330 mark. Any reason for this?

Really isn't super accurate anyway. Mine will stay same miles for several days when I've drove 50-60 miles.
I think that just goes off the gas gauge reading for an estimate using some predetermined mpg.
I have run it down to 12-15 miles a couple times. Gas gauge right above the red mark.

With the 5.0 I'm getting about 16 mpg on every tank 90% city driving so the miles to empty showed 576 when I filled up last night. Unleaded is under $3 here now. Let the good times roll.

It is only based on your prior driving, so if that changes, the calculation will do its best to keep up. For example, I left on a trip a few days ago w/ about 1/2 a tank of gas; most of that 1/2 tank had been city driving w/ the avg. showing about 17.5 for that tank. I started off on the freeway, and the number was about the same for a long time, as the average for the tank was creeping up.

Not sure if I'm explaining it very well, but mine has been pretty accurate, if a little conservative (as they all are). I've run it down to 0 several times, and had a little more than a gallon of fuel left in the tank when I filled up.
