Default Is this a decent deal?

Im going to look at this truck today.
http://westmd.craigslist.org/cto/1526732884.html
Its for my FIL. He originally wanted a 2000+ but I told him he should look at this one to see what kind of shape its in. I would really like to see him get a pre 97 with low miles and in good shape.
Anything to look out for on this year? I already know to look for rust holes above the rear wheelwells. Anywhere else in particular to look for rust? (ie:floorboards, spring hangers, door bottoms, ect.)

the rear leaf spring hangers are bad for rusting out and breaking off of the frame.... it shouldn't be any worry though, because most auto parts stores can order the hangers.... look at the cab corners, rocker panels, etc.... most f150's of this generation that i've seen in real life (like mine), are notorious for a quarter sized rust spot (not hole) on the front, driver side of the hood (on the bottom of it where it meets the grille and headlights).... and i've always seen a little rust spot (not hole) on the driver side, middle of the tailgate (about the width of a BIC ink pen)....

I see you live in Wv like I do, and I already know (and you should to) that its hard to find a generation F150 like mine that isn't rusted out and beat up.... Wv packs salt on the roads in the wintertime and cancer starts to set in on vehicles....

Well it was a decent looking truck and it was a good deal. "WAS".
It was also a little fishy and ignorant. The guy called me at 3:30 to meet him at 4:30. I went and picked up my FIL (truck is for him) and rolled up in the guys drive at about 4:20. He and another guy walked out of the garage and told us the truck just sold.
Thanks for calling me and saving me a trip dude..........
Oh well, It wasnt meant to be.

When I sell on CL, I never schedule one after another... I give the person an hour late, and if a no show, then to the next and I make a list.... its only fair, plus it will get sold sometime.

Usually CL just pisses me off.
