They have some atomic adhesive tape holding them on and is very difficult to remove without damaging them, it can be done but putting them back on is going to require new body side molding tape, available at all auto parts stores. 3M makes it.
Good luck but maybe masking them off with tape and paint them on the truck would be easier.

I use a plastic trim stick at work. And they pop right off with no damage. Many diy'ers on here use fishing line to cut the tape. Then goof off, or 3m adhesive remover to get the tape off. The fender nameplates also have alignment pegs, that go into the holes in the fender.
fordpig - 2010 f150 i want to remove the ford f150 badge on both sides of the truck to paint them. anyone know how to with out damaging them or the truck.

- gently, slowly, patiently pry the edges working the length of the emblem using nylon pry bars ...
