Dammit.... Drove a Ford F150 for an extended drive - - just can't do it

the 6.2 is where the power is at. It was extremely quick and still got good gas mileage. I almost went with a Sierra with the 6.2 but the cab felt too small and claustrophobic for me and you sit really low in them compared to the nice and airy "big rig" style of the f150. The new 2019s are taller and bigger I saw so maybe I might have like them. I wish Ford would still do a 6.2 v8 but the ecoboosts are fun

Thanks - that engine combo crossed my mind too.... but I am still thinking I will be ending up with the F150..... if you get a chance, watch the short video I linked just a few posts above.... they are incorporating his very complex cylinder deactivation method if ALL of their engines, even the venerable 6.2 liter V8.
What I like about the Ford 5.0, is that it is not a cobble-jobbed cylinder deactivated engine.... at least not that I am aware of. But yeah, I am with you there.

I like an honest opinion but going to the GM twins doesn't make any sense considering they are behind the Ram and F-150.

The Toyota Highlander is sold.... so the serious pursuit is on.... for some reason I didn't see the 'What price did you pay' thread..... thought it was a 'sticky?' I am old... maybe I am going blind too. Anyone have a quick link? Did a search and came up empty.... must be using the wrong search terms.

If you are lamenting the greatness of a Highlander, you might not be a truck person.
Sure its a high quality vehicle but its about as vanilla and a chic wagon as you can get.

My post has taken many turns...... lol. I sold my Highlander a few days ago, and ordered a fairly well loaded-up F150 Lariat. I test drove several engines, and ended up focusing on the 5.0 v8. Drove several 5.0 V8's after the initial posting of this thread, and concluded my initial impressions were inaccurate, and I just needed more time behind the wheel to get the 'SUV' type ride out of my mind. I now feel that the F150 rides pretty well .... Did a final drive just an hour before ordering, just to make REALLY, REALLY SURE that I was good with it, and honestly, each time I test drove the F150, it seemed nicer with each drive.
I have owned two other 'trucks' in the past (both Chevy Silverado Z71's, so, I am not *new* to the truck experience. Although, I would guess many people here would not consider a Chevy a *truck*.... hahahaha.
Can't wait for the 8-10 weeks till my new F150 arrives.... very excited!
Thanks for your thoughts - have a fantastic day.
