Couldn’t a faulty starter do this?

I’m leaning more towards the tuner was uninstalled properly since one of the connections wasn’t plugged in, so I might see about getting it flashed from Ford and reinstall my tuner after to allow me to program the proper tire size.

I know these aftermarket things can be a hassle and it’s more or less a money racket…

So I’ve got two keys, a primary and a secondary went out to start it and the primary wouldn’t with the key in ignition but the secondary key would fire it up over the remote and once the truck was start via the remote the primary key would start the truck, I’m getting confused now as to where to look next.

The ol girl still gives me intermittent no starts, I’m wondering if it could be my starter, I had it bench tested but no load on it, is there another way to test? There was no signs of anything burnt or damage to the windings or commutator.

I’m betting starter decided it’s had enough, when it just clicks do headlights dim? I’d replace it and be done with it.

I’m thinking that’s what I’m going to end up doing but for 200 plus dollars I’m a bit on the skeptical side that that’s my issue. You’re probably right, it’s going in to be scanned by the Ford tool Thursday and after that, I’ll make a decision. 206,000km on the 5.0 now, so I suppose it’s had a good life.

What would it mean if the headlights dim, mind you I keep the lights off until the truck is running.
