Default Cruise Control?

Just picked up a 2004 STX 4x4, 4.6L V8. Real basic as far as bells and whistles go, but the one feature I really miss is cruise control. Is there an after market product for this? I've done some searching but come up empty so far.

I bought cruise control switches from TASCA parts for $73 and installed them myself. Then take it to ford to have the computer programmed for $100 and you have stock cruise control. The buttons are even back lit. All the wiring is there just plug and play.

Default Cruise Control

I called TASCA (Ford dealer in Cranston, RI?) and they gave me a part number and price for the switch asm. I actually found switches at Autozone but thought you needed more than just switches. Think the Autozone switches will do the job? That center portion of the steering wheel just pop out? No issues with the air bag?

Thanks for your help.

No problem, all you need are the switches. They bolt into the stock location. I don't know about the autozone one's. If they are for the same year model then I would guess they would fit. You can either unhook the battery or not. I didn't. When taking off the air bag, there are two bolts on the backside of the steering column. Take the caps off and the bolts will be behind there. Take those bolts out and the air bag comes right out. And there's a wire there that comes out that you unplug, and plug the switches in there. Then you have to have the dealer program your computer. It was $119 for them to program mine. Here's a pic to help you.

Here's a link to those switches I bought. http://www.tascaparts.com/shoppingca...gram%3DMA04300
Just click shop more if it says your cart is empty. These switches are really nice though. They light up at night and work perfectly. Hope you this helps you man.
