Default Courtesy Lights

I want to put a set of Courtesy Lights under my truck to light up the running boards. My truck is a 150 SuperCrew. I thought a nice set of lights that came on when you used your remote to open the truck would be a nice touch. I don't want them on all the time, only when I use the remote. I am sure someone has done this and has selected a good product. I want a good system, and if I could have your thoughts on where you connected to for remote only control.

Thanks Folks

Regards

Bill

hey bill, heres how i did mine on my '02.

i made the entire harness myself...its cost me about $60 for the 8 marker lights, relay, switch, about 80 feet or so of wiring, wire conduits, stainless steel screws/nuts/washers, and all wire connectors (butts, female connectors, male connectors, terminals). fun little prodject.

as far as having them come on when you open unlock your truck with your remote you can do it, just find what lights come on when you unlock your truck and wire them into that fuse.

ive got a remote start so i wired them into my parking lights fuse since they come on when i remote start my truck, i also have them on their own switch.

hope this helps

or if you have the black plastic ford running boards, try to order replacement lights from a model of them that came with the running board lights built in. then just cut the required holes in the boards, mount them in and wire them up.
