Question A couple questions before pulling the trigger

Greetings! New member here. Have been researching the new trucks for some time. Found one locally that is very close to matching my desired package. It's a Supercrew 4x Lariat with the 5.0. My questions:

1: This one has the 20" PVD Chrome rims. My preference is for the 18's due to taller profile for better protection off road (and possibly a better ride on the road). Am I being too **** about this?

2: In reading about the ECO's artificial sound enhancement, I'm wonder if Ford intentionally made the V8 louder. I prefer maximum quiet in my vehicles.

Any feedback appreciated.

I can only comment about bullet 1. Look on craigslist to see what 18" are available. Depending on your area you can pick up a set w/ tires. I've seen brand new sets taken off.

Get the XLT with the 302A package and save money.

SilvSurfer has a good point. The 302A package is great. Only difference is LED lights, and the LCD in between the gauges is larger. Also I believe no leather option for XLTs but its cheaper to have dealer add it vs Lariat.

1) 20" wheels do suck. They're heavy, expensive, reduce MPGs, ride harsh, and don't give much protection as you noted against curb rash and offroad damage.

2) The 5.0 is VERY quiet when stock. I couldn't even tell mine was running unless I hammered the throttle. It actually screwed with my brain a little...so I did an aftermarket muffler to give it a little sound.
