Cosmoline
I just purchased a nicely maintained 2015 F150. I'd like to treat everything ferrous underneath the truck. I was thinking of using cosmoline. Has anyone used this? I want to coat the inner frame as well. I'm wondering how well it spays on with a gun.
There is some surface rust that I want to treat before spraying on the cosmoline.

Only my opinion, but think I'd use Fluid Film over cosmoline. Very easy to use, cheaper, can come in spray cans, and they even have extensions that can be inserted into the nozzle. I used in the rockers on my '12, inside the tailgate on my Ranger, and where ever I think of it. Smells pretty decent too.

If it's the same stuff that they used to store guns, I'm not so sure I'd use it. To remove it from those guns, you used heat. Putting the stock on the dash of a car in the sun was enough. It would turn into a liquid and you could wipe it right off. Not to mention anything could stick to it.

Ew, when I saw cosmoline I also thought of guns. I remember I bought some Mosin Nagants a few years ago and they were caked in that sh! T! It does work though, considering how old the guns were, but YUCK!
