Default Coolant leak

2010 F-150 FX2
Triton 5.4L V3

I have been trying to find a coolant leak for the last 3 weeks.

I could always smell the sweet scent of the coolant, and the coolant level was constantly dropping.

I got some UV die, and I have found the leak.

Its under where the upper radiator hose connects to the engine with the thermostat inside.

Can anyone tell me if this is easily fixable or do i have a serious / expensive problem?

My best guess is lower thermostat housing or a intake manifold ..only guesses don't flame me please

What would be my course of action to fix it? i.e parts to replace.

Looks like the intake gasket. Removing more for a better view to confirm.

Smooth,

What type of gasket adhesive do you recommend for this application?

Also, since FORD does not have a gasket manufacturing division, they OEM their gaskets from another manufacturer...do you happen to know whom that might be? This is just like a Motorcraft battery or Motorcraft Synthetic Oil, which Ford neither has a battery manufact div or refinery...they give a manufacturer their spec's and tell them to stamp the Ford name on it...The same manufacturer can make the same gasket and sell as an after mkt, as long a Ford doesn't have a heart attack...There's less and less home-bred mechanics due to tools required, computer modules and other...Good luck to OP on your fix

Clean surfaces of all crud and old gasket material, make sure all mating surfaces are flat, all bolts and bolt hole threads are clean. Use gasket with out any sealant only a little spray adhesive to hold it in place if needed. Change oil and filter and flush & refill coolant with 50-50 mix of antifreeze. Good time to replace belts and hoses & thermostat. Take your time and check everything, radiator fan clutch and so on.
