Default Coolant additives

Ive got an 08 with the 5.4lL approaching 70,000 miles. I plan on flushing my coolant system this spring as soon as the weather improves. I plan on replacing it with the Ford recommended gold.... coolant.
My question is, does anybody recommend adding Purple Ice or Water Wetter or any variant? Are they snake oil, do they do more harm?

Personally, I would only do what Ford recommends.

yep... just cut the gold with distilled water... remove the T-Stat and use a good flush and install a new T-Stat when flush is done..
