Default Convert AWD to 2WD ??

Hello, I have an F-150 AWD, and I wonder if we could change it so that it is only 2wd. Is this possible?

What exactly are you trying to get at. Do you want it to be like a selectable 4x4 or just a 2wd. I have a feeling doing this would be very expensive and would be cheaper to trade the truck in for a different model.

If you are doing this just for the summer, take out the front drive shaft. If you want to be 2wd and change to awd, trade it in for a different truck.

he probably just wants to burn his tires off, I encountered the same problem when i got my 2008 explorer sport trac with auto 4x4, made it impossible to have any fun other than 4x4 slides in the winter, which require much more skill than most people have, I drive better sideways than most people can going forward.

Im not sure about Fords but I know Jeeps integrate the parking mawl into the transfer case so if you remove the front driveshaft the vehicle has trouble staying in gear on slopes, not enough friction holding the wheels in place.

Without removing the front drive shaft, is there an easier way. Because sometimes I want to be 2WD and when I would need to be AWD.

Default manual locking hubs

Install some Warn or other brand of manual locking hubs just like all the older 4 wheel drives had in the past. When you want it in 2 wheel drive just unlock the front hubs manually.
