So I just chatted with their support folks and they told me that it will NOT illuminate the specific gear you're in - it will only provide general lighting to the entire shift selector.

Currently checking out their led light kit for the running boards!
Ah, you must have an early model 2018. Maybe what you can do is, cut the OEM connector off the light block, and splice the olde and new together, so it'll be pretty much plug and play.
Those running board lights work well, plenty of light. I've had them on a '17, and a '20. On the '17, I mounted them per instructions, and they're pretty obvious to seeing, I didn't like that part. So, on the'20, I mounted them on the underside of the Raptor boards I installed. Not hard to do, and not visible, give an indirect like effect. I also wired both sets to the 3rd brakelight cargo lights, no screwing around trying to find the right wire under the scuffplate.

Hi John, yes I was thinking the same, cutting and splicing the oem connector to the 150Led kit. Don't see why it would not work. If I can find the connector to buy that would be even better. Then I would not wreck the OEM light. I really need to pay more attention to the OEM lights, see how dim they really are.
As for the running board lights, I agree if the light strip is too visible placed on the underside of the door panel, I would not like that Interesting idea to wire it to the third break light. I need to look at that

I agree John. My '18 came with the light but that looks like a nice way to kill an hour or so on a Saturday morning. I have my doubts about the remote that's included. Just wondering how durable it might be.
Appears to be made of 100% Chineseium.

When you're ready, let me know, I'll walk you through the wiring, it's not a bad job at all.

Ya, that controller is likely pretty cheap, like most things, probably is chinesium. I had an ambient light set up in the '17 with a controller like that. I just picked the color I wanted, and buried the receiver inside the console, out of sight, out of mind. Just tossed the controller in the console, and forgot about it.
